Cross threaded ****

So refitting my brake control unit for about the 4th time I've managed to mangle one of the threads as can be seen in the pictures, is this repairable using a helicoil or something else? Hoping someone has a suggestion as a new unit is a lot of $ :-(

The sealing surface is the cone shape at the bottom. As long as you’ve not mangled that you can repair it in two ways, either helicoil or tap for a larger sized union (you’d need a new bit of brake pipe as well for that option). You’ll need to make sure you don’t get any dwarf in the orifice.

Ended up taking this to an engineering shop, guy charged me £70 for a helicoil insert & labour - think £50 of the cost was the insert as was a large one? All back together and no issues so problem solved.
