Custom decat pipes for Granturismo. Will they cause problems?

Ive been looking at the Larini sport cats for my GTS but can get custom made straight through pipes made for a fraction of the cost. Does anyone know if a straight through replacement would cause issues with engine management faults showing on the dash?

You will have an issue as the standard cats & the Larini replacements have the lambda sensor probes at the front & the back of the cat measuring the temperature & speed of the gas flow between the 2 points. If these are not in line with what the ECU expects, the engine will run terribly and you will get a CEL. Even with the cats replaced with the Larini sports cats, I had to do a reset and the ECU had to re-learn the new exhaust gas flow which took a little time.

Yep you need cats in there that's for sure. We are currently looking at plans for some alternative cats for a GTS which should be a little cheaper.

Ah, ok, thankyou. Ill see if I can find any high quality sports cats that could be built in and still keep the pipes cheap enough to be worth choosing over Larini. We used to sell high flow sport cats pipes for £129 complete with gaskets, nuts and bolts. I know its a £100k car but it annoys me that there is a ridiculous Maserati tax on anything you want to buy for them. Ive just received a set of H&R springs that cost double the normal price. Absolutely no reason for this other than we are daft enough to pay it and you have no option if you want to lower the car but to pay through the nose. H&Rs are actually cheap compared to some of the spring sets being sold. They're just springs but because they're for a Maserati they cost twice as much, at best. Its profiteering.

Ill update the thread if I sort a cheaper functional good quality option.
