im so careful with this car, and then someone goes and damages it right outside my house so clearly someone down the street, not happy.

was having a good day, now im not.

scratched it like someones dropped something onto it :/

would need the whole quarter panel painted because its right in the middle.

It's gutting when this happens.

This is actually one of the unseen costs of Maserati ownership. I'm normally careful with my cars but no matter how careful you are they will always pick up dents and scratches like this. When selling I've always been honest with the buyer and just taken the line: 'well it's what you expect on an x year old car'.

But with a Maserati I know from my purchasing experience that punters will walk away from any Maser with even the most minor imperfection. I know I did.

This means, come selling time, we have to budget in a bit more than a good wash.

yeah, problem is the scratch will still be there... but i think il just have to live with it
Beau, don't fret, I know a great chap with reasonable rates in Hatfield Peverel that will do that good as new. He's worked on two of my cars including my Mas, with cracking results and also does stuff for dealers.
P.M me and I'll give you the number. You'll be pleasantly surprised I'm sure.

Beau, yours is flat white, you can get it colour sanded, the results are excellent:

Not sure if you (or anyone) have heard of this, but another option for surface scratches and rock chips is "Dr. Colorchip". Since I'm on my cell, I don't have the website handy, but just google it. Remarkable results, and 100% color match. I bought some for my grigio nuvolari and it really was an exact match. It works incredibly well for the rock chips on the front and pretty good for surface scratches. Hope it can help!

I got some stone chip touch up made for my car and the colour match was excellent, only good for really small chips and i ended up getting a respray last year anyway! But it can keep things looking ok in between paint jobs?

Just watched the video (http://www.drcolorchip.com/). Looks incredible. Is it really that good, Tubber?

Strangely, I was the exact opposite, I was more interested with what had been spent on servicing, maintenance etc, than the condition of the body, as I knew any scratches dings or pin dents could be taken out . As it was, for 300 quid after buying it privately, I had it returned to main dealer showroom condition with a glaze on top of the paint as well.
A car that hadn't been maintained mechanically I couldn't have put right for 300 quid!

I'd get the dent taken out and see what's left. It could be locally touched in and then filled in with high solid 2k lacquer and buffed back. Done the chips on the front like that now totally invisible.
Keep away from painting the whole panel at any cost.
