DBW Throttle body 3200GTA 2002

Had the throttle body replaced by Luuk a couple of years ago. Also have the contactless pedal pot. Real difficulties in starting the car when hot, not so much trouble when cold. Had knock sensor & crank sensor replaced about a year ago. Local indie couldn't nail the problem so off to the main stealer. I asked them for the error codes for the throttle body as that (according to them is the problem). They sent me a screen shot of the diagnostics which reads: DBW Posit, manif, pressure incorrect.
Before I send it off to Holland to get fixed, can any of the more technical guys give me their opinion. I don't trust this lot as far as I can throw them.
Thanks for any response.
Apologies for posting in classifieds, before I noticed - not having a good day.

Can you post the screenshot ?
There should be P codes together with the description

Hi jluis,
I have attached it here, but no codes that I can see, I will be visiting them tomorrow & will bring up any points raised.
Thanks!

You have all those errors set?
Did the dealer told you which of the revolutions sensor was throwing an error?
There is one at the crank and another at the cam.
If my understanding of how engine ECU's work is correct, the cam sensor is only used to detect engine phase and is only used on startup.

What year is your car?

Boost Solenoid Valve is the Pierburg Valve very close to the Throttle Body, Mine went and was throwing all sort of issues and overboosting. I'd look at the turbo hoses too as manifold absolute pressure inconsistencies like that can be boost leak or even MAP sensor issues.

That's not the most helpful error code i ever saw. at first i thought it was three errors, DBW posit is indicating its to do with the DBW position sensors, which is the bit that goes wrong. i think its telling you that the manifold pressure is not correct for the indicated DBW position. so yes the thought that the position sensors are off seems possibly correct, the error is consistent with that. I wonder if this could also be caused by air leaks around the plenum too? the gasket under the plenum comes loose, and the small hoses around the plenum also get perished?
You have a fairly scary list of problems there sir! if you plan to replace the knock sensors maybe that could be done first as you would be able to inspect the seals around the plenum while you are in there?

Thanks to everyone that has commented. In addition I received a very prompt response from Luuk, indicating the same concerns with intake manifold pressure being incorrect & throwing a DBW error. I have told the dealers to check the oil pressure sensor, pierburg valve, plenum seal & turbo intake hoses & explained (what I understand of the logic - not a lot). Will update with their response & hopefully the error codes. I really do appreciate everyone's input, as I am sure that without it there would be a much longer list of replacement parts - starting with a new throttle body - yeah right!

Confirmed by dealers as fault P0221 see attachment

May be teaching to suck eggs but the erratic MAP sensor signal would give these problems. Might be worth trying to clean it or for a £50 job it might be worth changing it anyway to rule it out.

Thanks dunnah, will add that to the list. As I posted, their solution is often a new throttle body!

I believe that code is either related to the throttle body or the pedal.
I have a contactless throttle body in the garage that is not yet calibrated and I think that was the error it throws.
Will try to confirm it.

Thanks Jorge, garage has jumped the fault finding gun by substituting a new TB. Error cleared & symptoms disappeared. All I have to do now is send contactless TB back for inspection & wait. They have also recommended changing out fuel rails & filter. So lack of use has added to the starting gremlins. Anyone any ideas where to pick up new fuel rails as dealer price 2 x Eurospares (understand that freight & customs will inflate it).

To close this thread out the throttle body problem the dealer found was correct as (probably) the independent that the car first went to had opened it up & soldered some wires in the wrong place & parameters were all over the place. Back to Boomerang to sort the mess out.

New fuel rails? How long has your car been out of duty? Seems a bit steep to have the rails renewed.... Better use a good fuel system cleaner from Forté or Wynns or......

It is really difficult in a foreign country, with poor English (& my non-existent Thai) & they are 3 hours drive away - they are the main dealers? Will be interesting to see the condition of the rails that come off.
