Yeh will try that tomorrow thanks,as was on my own at work ..I think others have posted that sometimes it helps if someone pushes down on the boot when you pull my the release cord.
Dreaded dead battery when I went to leave work....tried to pull the boot release cord under back seat and nothing happened so left the car at work.....
I think the first thing to try would be to disconnect the battery again for 30mins.
Then connect again, when you turn on the ignition don’t start the engine until the car has gone though it’s check routine (warning lights go off on the dash).
Good luck

I ended up having to replace the passenger airbag switch ( located in the side of the nearside dash when you open the passenger door).Sadly didnt work
Was not sure which one it was as I thought there was only one light lol....but after a little checking the multi plug under the passengers seat has come unplugged, must have happened when I moved the seat to get to the boot release when the battery was dead,so the battery reset work after plugged back in.....happy days ...thanksSo which airbag light is it? If it's the passenger one, it'll go out after a few cycles (assuming the switch is good.) If it's another one, it's likely you disturbed a connector (under the seats) and it'll need reseating and then resetting

Solved the issue now,the multi plug under the passengers seat had come unplugged ...thank you for all the helpI ended up having to replace the passenger airbag switch ( located in the side of the nearside dash when you open the passenger door).
It’s not an expensive part and shared with many fiats etc - easy diy job although I added to a list of other with that Sportsitalia did for me.
