Deciding to buy a brand new GranTurismo Sport

If you were in the position of buying a new Grantourmsio Sport before they stopped been produced, would you? With it going out of production shortly and not that many M145 (I think) facelift models around do you reckon the they'd be looking to sell a couple more cars so more of a little dealing position maybe .....

I have driven both the Auto (had an Auto MC Shift GranCab for a week, not the car I want to buy) and both the MC shift I only want the MC shift gearbox, face lift model with the newer front apron and other nice little tweaks that came in 2012.

Hmmm... I reckon if I was buying new it'd have to be the Strad. But then I'd look at the price and realise I could get a 599 and a GS for that money. Making a decision would be quite tricky. Happy pondering.

Already took out a Strad at a dealer, but too scared, slide on damp roads and only use in the summer, I need to use the car ALL YEAR!. So back to the GT Sport got to buy one before they go outta produdction!

Just do it.....If it's the car you want then do it. MAserati will not make another car like the GT....The next V8 I'm sure will be turbocharged and the new GT is moving into a different sector.......So this is a chance to own a great looking Maserati. The new car isn't coming along for 2 to 3 years. PLus I have heard that there are good deals to be had on a GT these days.

If you need the extra seats then 599 won't work. For me, at circa £100k I think a new or nearly new strad would be the best long term option as rarity will limit depreciation. I Wouldn't worry about weather issues as that is just down to tyre choice.

That's just the tyres on the Strad. You could use them in the summer and then a more grippier tyre in the winter. Stradale has the advantage of a much nice looking front end to the GT Sport IMHO.

As for discounts, you have always been able to get reasonable money off the GranTurismo so give it a go.

So basically I should really be looking at a brand new strad (100th anniversary edition). I've been playing around all weekend on the website build and price however, anyone notice when you get to the end of your config I can't see total price..... Now it has to be the coupe for the MC shift not the auto of the convertible......

Yes, I'd noticed that the Centenary Strad doesn't produce a price on the builder either, just a PDF to print and take to the local dealer.

Not sure that the GT will be an all year round car to be honest unless you fit winter tyres. I had one for a year but got rid after realising its undriveable on icy roads and winter tyres are special order - i.e. if you don't order in the Summer then you are stuffed.

My winter tyres came off a couple of weeks ago. I use the car less in the winter but can confirm that the car is very driveable in snow with the right tyres. More importantly it stops fine too.

Winter tyres are expensive but mine have now done four seasons so the cost is reasonable in the end. I would not want the GranTurismo to be my only car but it can hack the job if you insist but with 'normal' cars available for a fraction of the price of the Stradale I would recommend something else too.

In the UK, maybe, but look to Germany, Austria or Alpine France and they should be readily available. Switzerland too, but the exchange rate will make you feel ill for a few days.

Nothing on the Maserati website builder gives you a price, even though it says build and price with your options. Second for those of you that have bought new how long did you have to wait from order to delivery?
