Maverick, if you don't mind me asking what set it off in the first place? Just wondering because the air bag module sits right underneath the HVAC box. My air bag light was set off a couple of years back before re-routing the heater hose around the heater core by slow leaking anti-freeze, same year as yours.

Not to sure realy but it happened just after I upgraded the speakers ? I thought I may of upset the wires when removing the door card I have the flashing child seat light plus the airbag light ,I been told if could be the switch but I have checked that and it seems ok. , I was sort of hoping it would just be a itailian electrics glitch but I'll have a look at the modul and see if it's wet etc. .

Hi guys,
My GS was UK delivered and has the airbag switch for the passenger seat, which is illegal in Australia. The compliance guys employed by the previous owner ( private importer ) didn't disable the switch.
I had the same 2 warning lights come up and had them reset twice before an auto electrician associated with my indi got to the fault.
I was also advised on this forum the switch which is common to Alfa's is prone to die.
Hope this helps.

Was yours sorted by replacing the switch?

I had the same issue and Emblem replaced the switch twice. But the error still came back and I had to have a new airbag ECU in the end. Hope its just the switch for you as it cost me about £750 iirc.
