Just wondering whether anyone got round to independently testing their cars post remap on an rolling road? Did it make a material difference to power and torque. I am thinking of getting my Gransport done by DMS.

You can ask them to rolling road it before and after so that you can see what it's done. But I guess you'd really want to take it somewhere else for a more independent view, in fact, you'd probably want to take it to 3 or 4 to get an average as I understand that there can be some variance in how it's set up.

IMHO the best test was what me and Matt did, which as you've probably already seen somewhere on here, was to put the modded car next to a standard car on an open stretch of road and see if there's any noticeable difference. We found the answer to be a resounding No.

DMS are good chaps and I'd recommend them on service, but not on the results of the remapping.

Cheers Dan. Daft question but did you do the same test before the remap as no doubt there will be some difference between cars, especially as they evolve over time.

We didn't I'm afraid. We have also assumed that Matt's car is standard. We really should rolling road Matt's to confirm what kind of power his is producing. With regards natural evolution of an engine, my car whilst a year or so younger did have more miles on it, so that and the re-map should have made a definitive difference.... But it didn't.

Even though mine was producing 505bhp after the re-map, a standard one will still produce around 470bhp, and so you don't really notice 30bhp or so when you're trying to accelerate the best part of 2 tonnes.

There are no doubt more satisfying/effective things to do to your car for the best part of a grand.

Interesting thread and comment Dan. So nice gains but nothing major in terms of feel on the road against a stock car.
