Door mirrors not heating?

Hi Guys

Earlier this year I replaced both of my door mirror glass components as neither was warming up any more and with the wintery mornings and evenings, they really do make a huge difference. So I am pleased I replaced them.
However, at £35 per side plus postage it's another expense if this goes wrong.

I wondered if anyone else has this problem as I am considering trailing a cheaper fix if there was enough interest?? This could apply to any model, but specifically the 3200 / 4200 / GS for now.

Please let me know if there's any interest.

I have also found a fix for the clock backlight which I will post about later.

Best wishes

forgive the captain obvious but... fuse?

No but good thought, as the glass still moves with the switch / reverse gear plus there was 12volts at the heater element connection.
It was definitely the heater elements, now the new glass is very toasty!

These mirrors are the same as the Alfa 166, so should be able to get the mirrors a bit cheaper, rather than maserati prices.

Why bother with what's behind? Any Blue lights will become apparent very quickly so bollox to anything else.
