Hi EC...one thing and one thing only.......................get your nearest independent Maserati specialist to do an inspection.............no ifs........or buts....it will cost £200-£300 but can spot endless problems and defects and easily save....£1/2/3/4/5/K in an afternoon.

Hi EVO Cymru, welcome to the forum.......Don't know the car but I would be asking lots of questions and asking for the service history dates etc to be sent to you as he isn't givin much away on the add.......Plus a big rule for these cars is get an independent inspection by a well known specialist....It may cost a couple of £100 but could save you thousands in the long run.........

Thanks guys! Yes was definitely going to view before any bid and get an inspection done - just wondered if anyone knew about it before I delved deeper!

Which would be the best indy to use in the London area?

Personally I would look very closely at a seller's trading history, paying particular attention to any previous purchases they have made, before thinking about bidding. Then I'd probably look elsewhere.

Cheers for the referral Andy. Evo Cymru, do you live in Wales or just come from Wales. I'm up in Chester right on the border. I have a 3200 for sale but a great deal dearer than the £8k one. In my opinion, you can't buy a good one for that sort of money. If it's decent, a seller would ask at least £11k, probably £12k with those miles. If it seems too good to be true......

I expect with that mileage the reserve will be 10k at least, as people have said speak to a trader (Dicky) and get an inspection done.

Hi there,

Yes .. Hmm! Well think I will be holding onto the pennies a bit longer after looking a bit further into this. Prices do seem to be firming up a bit recently? Will continue the saving to make sure I have enough for the resultant servicing first!

Oliver

PS Yes I am based in Wales (just-Monmouth) and lucky enough to have been born Welsh too! Evo part of the name comes from my current weekend car - lovely Lancia Integrale Evo.
