EBC yellow stuff

I thought EBC Yellowstuff was a massive improvement over standard pads when I had them on my 4200.
Having said that I never tracked it.

Never tracked marci on yellows but on the road, they are light years ahead of maser standards IMO.

Ive tracked my spyder with EBC yellow stuff and had no problems at all with them. I did however, start to fry the brakes in the Alps, on the Modena run, after a pretty spirited thrash. They were starting to fade and smoke but the discs had turned black which shows the pads were gripping well. I still use yellows rather than the compressed camel cr4p that Brembo pass off as pads.

When I bought mine the brakes were useless mostly due to the inner face of the discs were knackered... eventually upgraded to the forum discs and EBC Yellow all round the car stopped better but still did not feel great. Brake lines were bled as part of the major service back in Feb and the improvement is massive.

Ferodo are good for road use, I've always used them on the old 3200

These things at 1600 kilos are far to heavy for track use, there like driving a Merc Sprinter fully loaded, awful!

Used red stuff on road cars in the past, great stopping power once warm. Never tried yellows though.

I'm running yellows on the front with FD pattern discs and will shortly be running yellows on the back as well. They're a bit dusty but a huge improvement over the standard shite.

I'm using forum discs with yellow stuff, not tracked but found they were a huge improvement for daily driving.

As above SM disks and Yellowstuff all round much improved both on road and track. EBC updated all their pad range about 5 years ago and they are now much better, the old ones use to give you ar5e twitch when cold, however they still have th dust issue they have always had

A lot of fake yellow stuff on fleabay by all accounts.

I would have thought if you were getting fade it is far more likely to be the fluid rather than pads, I have never run out of pads on mine even chasing Benny in the Alps! I would highly recommend a 5 litre fluid flush done properly yourself with an auto-bleed kit as recommended by Voicey using Padgid DOT4 fluid.

That reminds me, my brakes are grumbling after Llandow, I assume the pads are borked, might put some yellow stuff on instead.

I got some off ebay last year for a good saving, someone on here mentioned they could be fake so I contacted EBC. They said that there are no fakes on the market that they know of for the past few years

Just buy from a reputable dealer in the UK, or direct from EBC, you're only save a few quid if you go down the 'dodgy dealer route ' for something frankly life critical. I know which route I'd go.

The ones i got were same ones i guess...
Forum tip off that there were 2 or 3 sets available... i guess if you were doing fake ones it would make more sense to manufacture civic or mx5 mass market to make it worthwhile....hardly any point in faking a few sets of very specialised ones...
not sure if brake fluid is the problem.... its the first time ive used ebc....previously used renault sport on my R5 GT and not been able to see end of bonnet with smoke, carbon lorraine on my Clio and tarox discs and pads on my Giulietta..all with no fade...rallying the renaults and track day in the alfa.
I have ferodo DS2500 on my barchetta so ill use it for next track day...
i really think the pads arnt up to the weight of the car braking repeatedly from 110mph....
