Engine Crackle Paint

Does anyone know where I can get the engine on my 4200 re-painted as the paint has flaked and started to come off.

I've Googled how to do it, and it's a bit above my skill/patience level.
Hence finding someone else who can do it.

I think there all do flake at some point ,what we really need to do is get a proper paint match and have some made up ,we may have to buy a quantity but we a few all chipping in could be cost effective .

I hate the gold plenum! If I keep the 4.2 engine it'll be painted black. If I fit a 4.7 it'll be black anyway (if it fits, not sure). The rocker covers will then be finished in the same colour as the car, but crinkle finish.

Mine's already been re-done in red. It was either red or black, so I opted for red to match the cam covers.

Didn't know that. Will take a look at the heart of Frankenspyder next week.

On wheeler dealers Mike got a manifold ceramic coated , not sure if it was this lot but it looked good and didn't look like it would ever come off, can't remember if it was inlet or exhaust though

It would be the exhaust as the ceramic coating is to reduce heat in the engine bay. Inlet manifolds suck in cold(ish) air, so no need!

Paint it with a light shade of VHT crackle paint then spray over the top with a gold paint that matches, job done.

The coating was by Zircotec. They will do anything metal and I have seen inlet manifolds done too. The heat insulation works both ways so could stop engine bay heat warming the inlet charge, but there is the small matter in the inlet manifold being bolted to a hot engine so unless the face of the flange was done too I can't see it being too helpful!

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to paint it though. I don't fancy doing it myself.

There is a tuning company on the continent I recall that has made heat insulating inlet manifold gaskets for this very reason!
They advertise on Maseratilife but can't find them at the moment.
