Right guys - it 3 weeks today till the Fastlane event in Corbridge, Northumberland.

I went along last year and it was massive. A brilliant day and loads of great marques.

So far there is Chris, Mickey, myself and hopefully Jonney. But this is a poor turnout given our superb cars. Even the event organisers are surprised given they have more Lambos than Maseratis!!!

Do we have any more takers?? It's May 16th and only a fiver to enter.

I'll even have my shiney new nuts on display by then!! (for those that have not read the postings I'm having my wheel bolts de rusted and chromed!).

The gauntlet has been thrown - all Northerners, southern Scots and Yorkshire folk - there are no excuses. All other areas obviously welcome!

Come on Maserati owners... We can't have more lambos than us, we need to turn out in force.

There... Party political broadcast over!!

Mark, Mickey & Jonny - was fantastic to meet the other North East Maser drivers on Sunday - a fine selection of well cared for cars too. We definitely need to go as a club rather than individual entries next year, if only to have space to pitch a canopy - I'm sure we can find one that doesn't leak!

Well done to Mark (X1ONS) who won the first place in the post-2000 concourse competition - testament to the dedication he showed drying the car every time the heavens opened!

Here are a few photos from when it wasn't lashing with rain...

Well done Chris for keeping the Maserati end up in the North East. Shame about the old weather though, typical!

Thanks for the comments - was still a fun day out in spite of the weather. It was great to see people intereseted in the cars come across for a nosey and a chat - had an old boy who was a classic Ferrari owner tell me how Maseratis had always been more for the gentlemen, leaving the Ferraris for the hooligans...

There was also a chap who was advertising his specialist garage in Teeside, who said he had an SD5 diagnositc - I'd only ever heard of SD2 and 3 on this and the other forum. Is SD5 just newer software?

Hi Chris,
I thought I saw an ST5 diagnostic kit on ebay a while ago...but thats a different kettle of fish.
The Ferrari/maserati kit SD2 or 3 is updated with new sw on a fairly regular basis, but as far as I am aware SD3 is the latest version,
Regards,
Enzo.

ST5 stands for Skill Tester 5...
I don't know much about it, just remember seeing one for sale somewhere...
Here is a quote from Maseratlife...

'Having looked at the ST-5 a year or so ago, my understanding is that it is essentially a "knock off" of the SD3. The SD3 software has been reversed engineered and loaded onto the device. The Chinese company that makes the ST-5 has done the same thing with a number of other luxury cars.

The problem then is that the ST-5 will not necessarily have the latest version of the SD3 software and there is likely no way of easily updating it without going back to the manufacturer. I also understand that some functions of the SD3 require that you access the Maserati dealer network which obviously would not be available. Finally, I have heard that the SD3 can be quite complicated to use so without a very good set of instructions you likely would not be able to fully use the device.
