I think I would have worn the old ones out first rather than fitting them to an almost barnd new car?

A little background.

The owner of the Grancab was used to performance cars and felt (I agree) that the car was underbraked. Emblem contacted Larinisystem (UK supplier of FD products) and they have a big brake conversion for the later 4.7 cars. The kit in on their website. Apparently they work very well over OEM but they don't fit 4.2 and early 4.7's as their calipers are smaller so best to check with Martin at Emblem or read up on the website below before ordering.

In the kit you also get the braided brake lines which really improve the brake pedal feel (harder and less travel).

Much like. Be good to see some pics with the wheels back on.

Performance obviously key but still be nice to see.

That's the big brake kit you say, Phil? Certainly seems to fill the wheel better judging by that photo.

Interesting to compare price with OEM. Any view on how much that might be? Perhaps I don't try hard enough but generally the standard brakes are OK for me.

The Cab weighs 110kg more than the coupe and the brakes are unchanged so I can see where he is coming from.

A 380mm BBK would fill the wheel quite well, but probably not at much as you would think based on my experience. This is however a comparatively cheap way to get bigger and better brakes compared with what you would need to spend normally to get this size. Its clever they have utilised the existing caliper to keep costs down.

You seriously don't want to know the cost of the FD Big Brake kit. It will make your eyes water!

Depends whether 'big brake' refers to 'big discs with standard caliper' (like done here), or 'big caliper and big discs', which are then, £££ or should we say $$$ !!!
