Saw a picture of this this week and another quirky 500 for all us 500 lovers out there.

Slightly off topic.

I'm going to buy an original, 60s Fiat 500, strip it down and completely refurbish it for my OH's mumble...th birthday. New unleaded converted engine, full respray, redone interior, everything. She's always wanted a 500 since she saw one in France as a kid. I even know the exact colour that she wants. She calls it "baked bean" it is in fact Fiat 208.

I plan to present her with a huge box with other boxes, diminishing in size, within. At the centre will be the box containing the key.

So, if anyone knows of a solid car in need of some TLC to bring it up to scratch, then please PM me through here.

Currently stalled due to house move and lack of workshop but most of the welding is done and all the mechanicals are refurbed ready to fit

One of those early 500D's would be Maserati money nowadays:)

Dave

Not bad for a car that will not reach 60mph. Sold it to a guy from Brighton, who bravely drove all the way back from Scotland, never having used a "crash" box before! Over 500miles.

Was involved in restoring a 500 Abarth Scorpion a few years back, got it to concourse, then had to sell it cheap for £10K as we needed the space..!!
