I used to drive these back when I was 18-19 (7 years ago) had 3 of them, they were rare even back then, I love them, always found them to be much better than all the other hot hatches of that era, fuel injection and Turbo, one came up for sale on facebook today and I just had to have it! Planning on keeping it for a long time this one, prices are well on the rise so too

Sweet... cool find... enjoy it. ☺ 1.3 turbo. Back in the day we had a Renault 5 GTTurbo. The uno turbo always had the edge though.

My girlfriend (now wife) had one of these when I met her. That looks in lovely condition. We had a lot of good times with that car, it never let us down.

Indeed, the R5T was quick but the engines twisted and warped under the heat. Great when working but terrible if not.

The engines in the Uno where bulletproof, but the bodies terrible. Think the last ones where galvanised and made a very durable car.

Like it Beau!

My choice back in the day was the Lancia Y10 Turbo.
Smaller, but a lot of fun!
1049cc intercooled but blowing through a twin choke weber.
Very nippy when it came on boost (was only 7:1 compression ratio), but for the size not very economical, 30 mpg max!
I went to a rolling road shootout at Well Lane Turbo's (remember them?) and it pushed out 99BHP, officially it was listed at 85.
In comparison all the Ford Escort Turbo's were struggling to get near their official 130BHP, so was very happy.
This was now 25 years ago!

Well done Beau, welcome to the Retro Hot Hatch Club, I'm after an XR2 and/or a R5 GT Turbo Raider for the collection next.
