First Maserati

Hello everyone. New to here with my first Maserati. I eventually became an owner after I don't know how many years of wanting to be. Happy to say I now own a 2009 Granturismo S. Getting out in it as often as possible before the winter sets in.
Unfortunately the dealer closest to home gave up the franchise not long before I bought, so it's just short of a 200 mile round trip to the now nearest dealer in Edinburgh should I need to go there.
Any tips, pointers or experiences or the like to do with the model I have gratefully accepted. Especially if it saves a few quid along the way!

All the best to everyone.

Congrats on your new acquisition!
Sure you will continue to fall deeper in love with her.
As per forum tradition.......this thread is useless without pictures! Lol
Post some up when you get a chance please.
Some of us would be pleased to have a 200 mile trip each way never mind round trip. ;-)
Enjoy!

A few pictures attached of the new lady in my life. It took a long time for me to find one with the colour combination I wanted, but it was worth the wait. We all like different things and styles of course, but for me this is the best combination. Though I have to say the blue exterior is a gorgeous colour too.

Exactly the same colour and trim combo as I had on my GTS auto. Looks lovely. Congratulations and hope you have many happy miles in her.

Looks great. I really like the light interior on a dark external colour.

Thank you for all the kind, welcoming comments. Very much appreciated.

If I can ask a question regarding the car....on the Granturismo the sills flare out quite a bit as they near the rear wheel arch. The paintwork on this flared section seems to suffer badly from stone chips and pitting. I had this section of paintwork done just after I bought the car to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the car. But already, after a relatively short period of time, the paint on the flared section is all chipped again.
Can you recommend a product that would would offer decent protection to the paint on this part of the car for when I get the paint brought back to like new again, probably in the spring?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the kind words Dave. Much appreciated.

Could you pass on the contact details of the Indie you mention please? It would be good info to keep in the back pocket should the need arise. Cheers

Yes Steve the QP has that flared bit too. I would also be interested in a possible solution

The Indie I use is about 7 miles from me. They do not have a website as such but you can see their work on the Facebook page which is quite good.
They are
Falcon Performance Engineering
Davey Road (?)
Skippers Lane Industrial Estate
Middlesbrough
They have worked on almost every exotic (AM DB5 Shooting Brake - one of a bout 12, etc) and do more mundane stuff too
I have found them to be trustworthy, honest, competitive and excellent standard of work.
Failing them then the next nearest (to me) is JCT Leeds
Good luck

You can try Ian at Lyles of Newcastle in Westgate Road Tel: 0191 2730700. Very helpful so far in buying parts but no experience yet re servicing/mechanicals. Been around a long time.
