First Niggle - Reversing Lights/ sensors not working

well the car passed its MOT on Monday so the reversing lights must have been working then. I have noticed that the reversing sensors are not operating and wing mirrors not dipping so i assume its something relatively simple as its affecting all these items. Is there a simple switch, or relay that controls all these ? Obviously reverse gear is working OK, and i get the beeps, just lacking in lights etc.
Any help appreciated.

Steve, try fuse 11 (7.5 amp) in the boot and fuse 41 (15 amp) under the dashboard....listed for reversing mirrors......otherwise other suggestions will be made shortly...

Hi Steve, I think Larini are a bit snowed under at the moment. There are a few people waiting for delivery. When did you order them?

got them on ebay the other day, wishful thinking i would have them by the weekend, but only have so much time and my DBW should be coming next week. what fun

I'll be interested to hear what you think to the DBW Steve. I've been intrigued by it since getting my 4200, but other things are higher up the shopping list. Hope you'll take a bit of time out to let us know how you get on before and after and during installation. I believe it's a simple job, but a photo step by step would be great to see. well checked the fuses, all ok, any other suggestions anyone ?

Check the micro swith under the gear selection leave if its a CC. They do fall off and this was exactly the same problem a member had on the other side last week.

Are your wing mirrors folding in , or have they ceased working aswell , i have the problem on the GS and all fuses are okay so i'll be interested in the fix , re the micro switch mine came off the 4200 , but it means that you cant select reverse either

Hi Loz, mirrors folding using switch, but not auto dipping.

i did take a look under the leaver. is there more than one switch as the reverse leaver only seems to activate one micro switch, which i was guessing was the one that activates reverse gear. Anyone know if i need to dismantle more ? I cant see more than one set of contacts on the wiring diagram i have.

I had a boot opening problem thought it was a common fuse/relay issue, but turned out to be a broken wire where the body of the car and boot lid meet via a rubber corrugated tube with all the wires in it......you could try to ring one of the indies, maybe try Marios at Autoshield , his logo intermittently appears on the front page or google Autoshield Manchester.
