Fixed key fob but now doors continue to lock.

So I figured out why my keyless entry wasn't working. I found the control box in the rear was unplugged. I plugged it back in and the remote works to open the trunk (boot) and lock the doors. When I try to unlock, I get a minimal effort from both doors but neither unlock even for a second. In order to get in I have to put my key in the door and manually unlock while opening the handle because the locks keep trying to lock the door immediately. Once it's open the doors continue to make noise but don't actually move for about 10 seconds. Eventually it gives up and I have to manually unlock the opposite door. Both doors respond the exact same way.

I would assume both lock actuators need to be replaced?

Before ordering them and paying $60 to have them shipped to the US I thought I'd run it by the forum. All the post's I see on this topic involve locks that wont lock (the opposite problem) and usually one door will work and one will not.

Very much appreciate any help!

Mine did this once, it was after I replaced the torn rubber bit inside the key fob, apparently I didn't push the contacts together properly. Carefully open up the key (make sure the little black bit doesn't go flying and get lost) check if it is all pressed together properly....

With mine it was both keys because both fobs had torn rubber inserts and I replaced them at the same time but didn't rebuild either of them properly lol :)

If you already have not tried it there is the reset procedure lock and unlock 12x times until the car beeps and goes into learning mode then click each fob once

Last thing I can think of is how is your battery health? Do you keep it on a trickle charger?

Given that his locks are trying, I don't think either the reset or the switch are the issue.

tcrote, not sure that both need doing. What happens if you use the key in the passenger side?

I had something similar to this a few years ago on my Spyder. It turned out to be the lock module on the passenger side (would it be drivers side on a LHD car?) that was faulty and instantly countermanding the instructions given by either the remote or the key. Manually (with key) opening via the offending side would allow me to override the function.
It's a Lancia bit apparently..
