Must admit for such a lovely marque there are some right stingy ******* on here :D

Its the same as these cars - only worth what someone is prepared to pay and may take a while to shift but no doubt a buyer will be along.

So just because its a Maserati, does that automatically mean the owners should pay more for an item than it is really worth?
The fact that the market is small for Maserati specific items does not add up totally either in most cases.
Take my Stag for example, a full stainless steel exhaust system, thats a pair of stainless steel tubular exhaust manifolds, a pair of central exhaust boxes, H pipe, a pair of rear tail pipes, and all the intermediate link pipes, are less than £750. If you don't want the manifolds, just £260! All made from the same thin wall stainless steel tube as the 'specialist marque suppliers'. There might be a little more demand, not much if at all globally, but the inflated price because of the marque....well good for them I guess!
Of course another example we all know about are brake discs, don't need to say anything on that one!
Also the forums own exhaust options too!
I think the majority of Maserati owners are not tight, just sensible enough not to pay over the odds.

Good condition, second hand Larinis have sold at £1000 a pair for the last five years, I reckon they'll be gone within a week.

Maybe Dickie although I'd say market is paying £600-£750 in general for good condition second hand rear sections.

I was prepared to go to £750 for mine as they were in as-new condition. Later followed that up with a Larini H-pipe for good measure! :thumb:

They are for a 3200 mate, completely different system and a smaller exhaust system so £450 is what people have paid in the past.

Why are you being a dick about this Simon? It is completely out of charachter.

My mate has had an offer of 750 for them but will hold out for more as they are worth that. He plans to polish them up and get some good photos and then advertise them in a different thread than this one. Hopefully the mods will remove any comments which are a complete waste of time and derail the original thread.

You have to do your research but you can get a specialist exhaust company that will make stainless steel "sport" rear boxes for the 4200 for 350£ including fitting.
I am not saying they are a great and perfect product as Larinis but definitely more value for money and with similar results.
They will also gut the original back boxer and convert them to straight pipes for 250£

...and this are London priced so it should be cheaper in other part of the country.

But the auction has not finished, someone has placed a bid, why remove the link?...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Larini-Sp...643231?hash=item3f5ba77e9f:g:-mkAAOSwvUlWriFj

I think your getting confused ,there are from a different seller not contigo's, he removed the link as he knows I was interested in them and i made contact though a third party account not my own, I know that we on the forum have a certain etiquette or if you will a un written rule ,that we don't tread on each others toes when bidding on a eBay item of interest when made known .Eg not pushing up the price ! But alas some one has bid on them already so if that's another member please let me know and I will leave along .

I'm not getting confused, I know the seller was not Phil, just couldn't understand why Phil edited his post to remove the link with just 'sold', I know now of course, just unfortunate that I happened to see the original unedited post however brief it was on-line.

I removed the link after John expressed an interest in the auction. I also decided that it would also attract the usual scrutiny from so many members when I saw that there was a dent in one of them and that these are asking far too high a price as per the usual disparaging comments made in this original thread where I had a set for sale.
