Fuel flap won't close

Really annoying this one.
Went to fill up. Flap opens. Fill up. Strange clicking noise from filler area while fuelling.
After filling, flap won't stay closed (clasp seems to not work so it just pops open again).
Look at filler open button in glove box... and its stuck in. Won't pop back out, so flap is constantly trying to pop open.
Any help appreciated, as flap is blowing about horribly in these storms (and I'm temporarily without a garage :-(

Pull the glovebox unit down, poke it free with a screwdriver, silicon spray it, all done. And free.
By glovebox unit, do you mean the tray thing that sits inside it? And do the switches come out with that?
Do I have to take glovebox door off?

Bit of a PS to this...
No matter how much silicone I throw at this, it continues to stick in. Had to buy a new part.
Keep the old part. I used a micro file on the button edges and the plastic frame the buttons fit in after taking the switch unit apart.

The heat from the glove box bulb appears to warp the plastics.

Yes, that happened to me too. Keep meaning to look into sorting it, but as I don't use my QP much I'm coping with the red cord for now.
