CC fluid low but I suppose that would throw a light.

Try a battery off for 20 mins reset that's about all you can do.

And check the load on the pump. If it's not running properly, might not be able to sustain pressure. I'd expect a warning light, but....

Hi guys and thanks for all your advice as always!!

My car will be taken to my indie on Friday so he'll have time to read the codes and do whatever he has to do. Then I might have to source the pump myself and get it to him so I'm anticipating a good couple of weeks off the road unfortunately.

Anyway, is this weird or normal?? I re-checked fuses tonight and the fresh 30A Maxi fuse I replaced that controls the pump had blown again. I'm thinking maybe when I replaced it and hoped that would do the trick, the mere unlocking with the blipper or door opening would have forced a presumably-burnt out pump to try and prime and overload the circuit and it blew again?? Would that be right or are there other things afoot here do we think?

Cheers

Sounds similar initial symptoms to mine when the CC actuator failed but when my failed I could select 1st & 2nd gears but no others. The indie will find out what has failed hope its a pump as they are a lot cheaper than an actuator which are close to £2k now.

Ouch!! I hope so too!!! 2kGBP is about $4,300AUD so let's hope it's not that!! From what I can gather the pump seems the obvious candidate as I can't select any gears and there is no priming on either key or door opening so let's work on that for now ha ha ha!!

Cheers

Yes agreed it is the perfect way monitoring the relay as opposed to the pump, but don't know how easy it would be to make such a monitoring circuit as opposed to just buying one off ebay for less than a tenner!

So we need, terminal A is live (pump supply), terminal B is not (TCU trigger), so make terminal C live (warning light)

It's dead easy to set a warning up – you'll need a couple of relays and a buzzer or lamp.

The first relay closes the circuit when the pump is powered up.

The second relay opens the circuit when the TCU is commanding the relay to power the pump.

In the event that the pump is running whilst the TCU signal is idle then the buzzer or lamp will activate.

Ain't technology wonderful! Nice one, centurion.

I wonder if we could just get a stack made and and sold as an SM product.

I can ask Alex if he fancies it as a project... He is in the right place to get them made up, where would people want the parts located, naturally the F1 relay is in the battery area but likewise the warning would need to be in the cabin if audible or on or about the dash if visual?

A perfect solution would be incorporating the 50amp Ferrari upgrade relay:

http://www.sportsmaserati.com/showthread.php/18244-Change-those-F1-relays!?p=436996#post436996

Using:
http://aldousvoice.com/2015/10/15/ferrari-360-f1-relay-upgrade/

combined with the monitoring relays, on a separate relay board, with a flying lead to simply plug into the existing relay F1 relay base. A buzzer from the new add-on relay board could then be positioned behind the off side rear speaker while the boot boards are out.
Simple plug and play, not cutting or altering the existing wiring harness or existing F1 relay base.

I am starting to leaning that way too Zag.

This would do the job:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1Sec-999M...949619?hash=item2a57d120b3:g:cToAAOSwEetV7pDJ

Simple delay timer before illuminating a warning light. "F1 pump running too long"

Would this work?

I have asked the lad but he was on his way out the door with his arm candy (as seen at Bruntingthorpe this summer)! He will look into it but I would need some support from knowledgeable members about the full requirements. I agree a buzzer under the parcel shelf would be favourite as long as the driver would be aware of it's meaning.

Yes! But voiceys suggestion (#26) of twin relays to indicate as soon as the F1 relay contacts are fused together is better.

Ok, just had a message from Alex; he has talked to the MD and they would be happy for him to undertake this as an apprentice project and build a run of units :D So I'll put him in touch with Voicey and let's see if this can happen...

I wouldn't have thought he even needed Voicey. Relay base to plug into the existing loom. Three (one as a replacement F1) relays in a small box plus the remote warning. Give it an earth and Robert is your father's mother.

I shall shut up, but please take my money.

Given he is an apprentice and has never touched any car electronics to date, I would want him to understand the whole concept first and act when informed.

Nice little project - hardest bit will be finding a ready-made plug with flying leads or terminals to plug into the existing relay base. He'll probably have to make them using stripped-down relays - I can't think I've ever seen any male bases for sale.
