Agree in the round but the S is a lot cheaper than the M5/RS6. These is scope for a more powerful engine when the Alfieri comes out with the range of V6 power outputs.
I have had a Petrol one for around 3 weeks now as a courtesy car - It is simply appalling! Horrible ride quality, in sports mode the exhausts rattle like **** and seem they can't handle the noise crazy vibrations...there is always a horrible drone in the car when in sports mode - bad design. The info screen is like some after market Halfords Kit from China. The materials feel cheap - plastic. I dropped the key on the floor and the buttons on the key came off and went all over the floor! Took me 10 mins to find all the buttons! If you don't believe me drop your key and watch it come to pieces - I am SHOCKED!
The car feels like it is a vauxhall or Hyundai and not a Maserati...I really can't believe how they allowed this in to production!! It loses traction even in the dry - yes it is pretty powerful but as a great man once said - power is nothing without control! I don't feel comfortable driving it fast at all. This car has no chance against a BMW or Mercedes no bloody way.
Glad its not too bad....

Mate, it is so bad I prefer to drive my C class wherever possible!
Well what a to do
I have warmed to the Ghibli (not driven one)
Was hoping the petrol version would be good
It seems not
So where do we (I) go from here?
If I wish to change from my QP, I may have to leave the marque altogether oh dear oh dear
Wait a while, Maserati will change the diesel and boost the V6S to give 500 plus bhp by this time next year

Other than on price, I can't see why anyone would choose a new Ghibli over a new QP. The QP looks better, rides better, has more room, etc. But obviously, give the diesel a miss.
