I'm ancient so I appreciate the draw of nostalgia as much as anyone but I can't for the life of me understand the stupid prices asked for Escorts and the like, and I've seen 'totally original' cars that are nothing of the sort with ridiculous price tags, then along comes the 'nana which offers so much more for so much less. Daft innit?

Absolutely 100% Phil baffles me completely but when my Manta GSI is complete it can go to the highest bidder :)

It is a strange world we live in indeed. These cars do certainly offer an awful lot for the money. Someone will get a great car when it goes, but until then I get to enjoy it a bit longer. Life can be tough at times.

It is odd Phil but probably the biggest factor could be running costs and reputation. While not always true most of the great unwashed will still see a Maserati as a risk with big bills etc. To be honest from everything we see on here the GS seems to be one of the more reliable cars from the past. If I had the money I would be jumping at this GS and I would love it and lick it clean every night.

I've never been a fan of the rear tail lights on the 4200 etc models but this looks absolutely stunning, and I *love* the yellow despite being allergic to bananas. I'm trying to work out what I have to sell to buy it... :love1:

I guess is this MAFs car? Lovely shape and colour. And pics .
If i was on the market for one, this would be one of my possible choices. I would need to bring the steering vice versa though :)

GS may in fact be the last car sold with a traditional manual odometer to go along with that analogue speedo.

Great car, GLWS. Echo the other comments on the value, nothing comes close to the GS for exotic car value at the moment.

There is no comparison to what hot Fords and hot hatches are bringing these days to most other stuff, these weren't the best built cars in the day so are unlikely to be much better these days. I am sure its the fear of Maserati bills that put people off and with some justification if they go wrong.

I love cars that just feel special regardless of what their relative value is at the time - the GS is one of those.

Quite jealous of all the upgrades this GS has, bet it goes well and sounds fantastic!

Fantastic car and glad you managed to sell. I just noticed... you mentioned the car has 360 gearbox software.
This seems to be a near mythical thing, with many people saying you can't do it, or that it doesn't work...
But I'd be very interested to get mine done! So how did you find it drives with that mod, and who is doing the work?

It was done years back by the previous owner and as you say @Delmonte, nobody seems to able to fit it nowadays.

Wouldn’t it be possible to download the software file from this car (subject to the owner’s permission) and apply it to another? Is that massively oversimplifying it? Are there hardware changes too?
