just read about them on the other side, not many praise them which seems a bit of a shame as A D G sell some nice cars. Some of the compliments they have recieved most are from customers which have been going to them for a while. Also why are they now specialising in mini what is that about? It does seen a bit of a shame that they are not known as a great specialist as A D G seen to be a good dealer to buy maserati.

I would imagine that they needed another marque to bring in the money...A bread a butter marque.

Not quite so Adam , there history of Maserati is only 5/6 years , the owner is a trained Vauxhall mechanic , that should say something or atleast ring some alarm bells , a few might say there diagnostic technique is very limited and they all to readily resort to the old trial and error method , with the customer footing the bill for the unessessary parts fitted , altho i havent had experience with them personally , fortunately i was forewarned early on in my ownership , but others have had good experiences

Matthew, the owner, is one of the good guys. Many a time he has helped me out, taking time over the phone to explain, without financial gain.....so my experiences are good.

Ok, I have not actually had him carry out any work on my car, and have heard issues. One seems to pop up time and time again, that he repairs the cars that ADG sell, and thus is instructed by ADG to do what they ask, which puts Matthew in a bit of a corner.

I would say, judge him by your own experiences, and not of customers that have purchased via ADG.

Thats a good experience Matt...always good to have a balance. You could be right around the ADG bit....But the chap who has just returned to ADG is well respected as well isn't he Matt.

Thats right Andy , Dominic left ADG originally to set up on his own now operating as Autosportiva , he had the business up and running and by all accounts we had really good feed back , for reasons unknown he sold out his interests in Autosportiva and after some time out has rejoined ADG ,

He was always the ethical brains behind the Maserati sales at ADG before he left and they had built up a good reputation , things only started to slide once he had left , hopefully now he is back the reputation will follow ,

I normally inhabit another forum but coincidentally picked my car (4200) up today from Giallo following a new clutch and major service so felt I had poke an oar in.

I live just a 4 miles from both Autosportiva and Giallo so have got to know them both well over the years. Autosportiva changed hands because the owner went broke and Dominic is now working for the old ADG owner again on a diffrent site (not maserati)
Autosportiva have a part time ex- Maranello mechanic (Neil, nice chap, ) but they seem to be no longer aiming to be a specialist.

I have never had a problem in 5 years with Giallo otherwise I wouldn't go back. They are knowledgable, helpful and friendly. My forthcoming Granturismo will be going there too.

I guess there are two sides to every story.
Whatever anyone says about ADG (Alistair) and Giallo (Matthew) their knowledge of our cars is second to none. I counted 20+ Maseratis on site today (including a 4200 with an engine out due to water/oil pump failure (ouch)

All the cars on sale seem to be A1 examples I would have confidence in buying (yes I did hear there was aproblem with a crashed one being sold)
So despite all the negatives being bandied about these guys, they have built themselves into probably the biggest independant sales/service Maserati operation in the country (they are separate companies despite being under one roof) So I guess they must be doing something right?

Viist them ,talk to them, make a judgement!

Welcome RB....to our Maserati lovers site...............thank-you for your thoughtful and thought provoking resume of your dealings and experience with the name garages above.

As we all know, bad experiences are posted more often and debated more than good or positive posts.......

It serves us all well to reflect sometimes in what we say, how we say it and about whom we say it.

Enjoy the forum, we look forward to many more posts!

Good luck with the pending GT.......ever so slightly jealous!

Matt, changing the subject..Hows the GT coming along.

Yes, good. All the body panels are fitting now, well, good enough, spend 4hrs fiddling with it and it go no better.

I drove it for the first time and it goes like stink but I dont like the engine sound and it smells a bit but I suppose thats diesel for you.

Just needs painting now. When it gets its vic test sorted I will tax and insure it then I have to take it to a couple of bodyshops to get the best price.

shorter than they should be?? well when i went to look at a maserati at adg i never liked the giallo set up and the fact they look after the cars a dealer is selling could be that they do dodgy jobs to sell

Not sure where your information has come from regarding "diagnostic technique" as attach below Giallo's up to date news information from their website regarding the latest diagnostic equipment available from Maserati

"Latest
Maserati Tester
New Maserati System Diagnostic Tester

We are lucky and proud to annouce we have purchased the new Maserati System Diagnosi Tester. This new tester was only made available to the independent market in May this year and we have become the first company to receive it, in Europe possibly, and activate it. Being laptop based and using blue tooth, this equipment now gives us the facility to carry extensive diagnostic tests on Maserati vehicles. The range is from old Quattroporte to current Gran Turismo and includes Ghibli, 3200GT and 4200GT and Gransport. With the function facility we can operate items independent of the vehicle controls, which aids repairs and diagnostics. This equipment also gets updated weekly and this is to ensure any programming and procedures to be adhered to are up to date. Included in the kit is an oscilloscope that helps monitor faulty components, this displays a digital signal on the laptop for us to check and compare to a good signal. An oscilloscope will also be used to check clutch balance values, driveshaft balance and engine compressions."

Hi Maserdriver, Welcome to the forum and many thanks for this information. It's good to get the facts together so we can all make as informed a decision as possible when choosing where to spend our hard-earned. Have you had personal experience of Giallo? It would be good to hear your own thoughts?

Cheers, Miles.
