I never follow the Tour de France but have to say I got caught up with watching it today. Congratulations to Yorkshire and all the hundreds of thousands who turned out to watch it. I thought it looked magnificent and didn't the speed look amazingly fast on those narrow twisties?

I'm up here now, been brilliant just missed Cav's crash , staying over night to pitch up at Holme moss , nice steep hill, that I remember racing up in my youth.

Made me laugh waiting for the race to arrive, the vehicles that go before the race......all the sponsors etc giving away goodies etc, the Sky car had a massive cheer largest of all the team cars then came along the Yorkshire Tea van and bl00dy h3ll the cheer was the loudest thing ever!

Absolutely.
Worked on site down in Southall for 5 weeks a few weeks ago, first thing a bought was a catering pack of Yorkshire Tea for my Yorkshire lads that were working down there. One has to have priorities!

Good start top the event, good to see the Yorkie bars have done themselves proud.

Nice run for them to day, lots of climbs including Holme Moss should be fun to watch

I must admit the tea plantations of Yorkshire are an amazing sight to behold ;)

Very proud of the Power Peloton ride yesterday - started at 4am, to ride the whole 118 miles of stage #1. Full support with outriders, as not all the roads were closed at that time in the morning. Rain at 60km into the ride = not nice :( Buttertups and Grinton Moor already had many many spectators). Total raised was in excess of a quarter of a million of your Sterling pounds, with more to come in (hopefully). Nice day :)

Yorkshire looks superb in the tour regalia, and I'm told over 1m people lined the route for the pros later in the day. Awesome. Or perhaps as a Yorkshireman I should say, "aye, that'll do." No need to overstate anything now, is there? :D

What a shame Cav is out.

Weather is looking good for today and it seems the crowds are every bit as enormous as yesterday.
