Gone Back to a V8

Having sold my 4200 a couple of years ago and had two Ghibli diesels in the intervening period, I have now gone back V8 with a stunning 2013 Granturismo. I wasn't looking for a new car until I saw a post on the forum asking if anyone knew this car. After reading the comments, I decided to give the dealer (GT2) a call as they are not too far from me. Chatted to John about the car and agreed a PX value for my 2015 Ghibli.

I established that the GT needed a service (8 year) and the dealer immediately agreed to have that done if I went ahead with the purchase.

Very tempted I contacted Matt at SportsItalia who told me they would service the car and give it a full inspection for me. I put this proposal to John and he immediately agreed. The car was then transported to SportsItalia and inspection underway.

A couple of minor issues were identified (cam covers leaking and a few missing exhaust hangers) that John immediately agreed to pay for. I also went with under sealing and a shiny new XPipe.

I picked up the car from SportsItalia last Friday where the deal was done and left my Ghibli there for John to collect.

Wow - what a car she is. The sound is immense and drive sublime. Absolutely love the carbon inside and out and the steering wheel is rather nice too! Bought a set of winter mats from Maserati to protect the carpets and some rear seat covers so my horse (@conaero - you'll not like this) can travel in style!

I have to say that I really enjoyed 2 years of Ghibli ownership and can't fault them. Very reliable indeed.

I drove that one , a few years back. I think it was 10k more. You got a good one there, possibly in the second best colour but best interior. Enjoy it!

The same dealer sold it a couple of years ago to a guy in Scotland. He sold it back to them recently to fund his divorce I'm told. Poor sod - been there myself!!

That's what I thought when I saw it on the other thread.
Sounds like you got a good deal with the 8 year service thrown in, no wonder he agreed immediately as I bet SportsItalia were a few shillings less than a dealer.

Disagree with the Rose thing. 50/50 on Trionfale v Sofisticato.

I have to say the red just doesn't move but what does move me is that lovely Med blue non face lift car you have. That I like better than the face lift Sofisticato one.....Looks a lovely spec car.....
