Alcantara is nice and soft I agree, I have experienced that a time, or two.
ADG like to make a good profit then, £7K for buying it and then advertising it??

Intrigued by their 'comprehensive warranty', they advertised the one I bought from them as the same, turned out to be 3 Months max £1k claim, which doesn't even meet their obligations under Government legislation. I could understand them charging a considerable premium if they gave comfort to a buyer but my experience of dealing with them was utterly shocking, I'd have been much better off buying privately

The pricing policy there amused me when looking for a GS. They always start a bit rich but then reduce by £1k a time, quite quickly, to a more sensible price. Still, with £6k+ in the car, there's room for movement.

If they spend money on them in such as detailing etc, then a bit more is reasonable and they do it to make a profit, but that mark up is stretching reason.

Detailing with them is done at trade price so it's I reckon £500 covers that ....7k is too much to make

Moral of the story, buy from a private sale and save 7k for the same car without a 3 month 1k warranty.

£7k mark up isnt a problem - dealers need to make a profit, IMO...so long as the service is there and the product presents vaule, good luck to them. If the product/service doesnt warrant the price, thats when its cheeky.

Another +1 for that and Pete's comment.

I'll take a warranty from somewhere like Autofficina, where they guarantee to fix the car themselves on site, however if some dealer/specialist offers me something like a Warrantywise warranty it's like ... err ... couldn't I arrange that myself?

Or am I missing something.

(Likewise when finance is offered ... errr, I can afford a Maserati but I can't work out how to borrow money to pay for it?)

True pat, a warranty should be something from dealers that your paying through the nose for anuway not them to give you a warranty wise one that anyone could get!!

Warrantwise aka warranties 2000 grhhhh! Not worth the paper they are written on!

First hand experiance, take it from me.

If I was buying an aftermarket warranty I would go with a name with some history behind it, AA or RAC.

Read the small print WW had a labour cap of something like £35ph, yeah right, that's going to go a long way, not!

Full agreement from me on all points, I don't mind profit, but blatant margins are a bit rude especially when you know you are prepared to knock loads off the inflated price, what's the point?
As for warranties, most of them are like the protection insurance scam, worthless.

Not thoroughly read this thread and know ADG ended up with the £20k GS, but it also seems they bought the on this thread was started about. It looks very tidy adn as good value at £23k.
