Just picked up the Gransport after her 18,000 mile service, which is the biggest service I have had done to date with HR Owen costing round figures £1,000 inclusive of Vat........OUCH

Well it will hopefully be many years with the mileage I do before the next big service but having said that just the annual service is enough to make my eyes water considering I only do around 1000/1500 mile a year.

What really hurt was refurbishing all four wheels from kerbing and potholes. I reckon that I have spent an absolute fortune on this over the years....... Penalty for living in London

With the service and wheels and few other bibs and bobs like new wheel caps and F1 relay £1500 odd was the final bill. That works out at £1.50 per mile just on keeping the car in pristine condition...........Hefty price to pay considering I only really use the car now days for the odd visit to The Ace Café get together

Urby, if you don't mind me asking, who did your wheels?

Mine don't desperately need doing but I'm thinking of getting them done, properly. I've had them done previously but am interested in options.....I'm thinking Pristine in MK. They did my M3 wheels and while I didn't rate their ball polished finish, their powder coated wheels looked great. I think they're c£90 a corner.

Ps - service is well worth it IMO. Preventative, for one, but will also make it a stand out in a few years. Very few have proper service histories in my experience.

I think given its pristine condition, its worth it spending the extra....you might not get all of it back, but it ensures a higher resale value

Never look at the price per mile driven. It's the pleasure that the whole ownership experience gives which is important.

I would stick with a main dealer history. Given you annual mileage, it could be on 30-40,000 miles at 20 years old and will be the most sought after RHD GS..............other than the naff colour mind!

Woody I let HR Owen do them whilst the car was in for a service rather than have the hassle of losing the car twice. I am sure I paid more than I need have done but the result was brilliant. I also put in new wheel caps

I agree with that Bob, but I prefer the Indie prices over the M.Dealer, they are lower but not drastically so..!!

Maserati servicing is never cheap, unless you take it to Joe Bodgit Garage..!! If you can save a bit on labour it can make quite a difference and most Indies I have used know just about everything there is to know and usually are more inclined to repair, or adjust, where main dealers just replace and charge you sometimes for things you don't actually need..!!
