Matt, Have you checked the brake switch? Its lined to the CC box and if sticking on due to little use may be tricking the box.

Matt, when you parked, did you reverse in? Check the reverse switch spring is ok, not sure if you have the same setup on a GS but mine does not return correctly by itself and if it does it confuses the system and you cannot get any gears. Just a thought...

No, drove in forward, tried to drive out forward.

Good call Peter, I didnt think of that. It will show up on the SD at Mikes, but a good shout, they are notorious for failing.

Well, first issue found I think, have just done a battery reset (disconnect for 20mins) and replaced the battery. The positive terminal has 3 cables that bolt to it, one was completely loose.

Changed the battery, tightened up all the terminals and the GS fired into life, full strength starting, so glad that is sorted. \

What it does mean is that the battery I just replaced was probably ok but I know that the battery is good now for the next few years, so no bad thing.

Car has been idling for 20 mins to complete the battery reset, I am off for a hack now, Ill reports back.

Do you know what, that could well be the problem.

I had all manner of crazy issues one time, including stalling at traffic lights on a busy junction, and it boiled down to a loose battery connection. Tightened it up and all my problems went away.

Don't forget Matt that you can plug in an OBDII scanner on the GS to get a rough idea of any stored faults. The SD2/3 give greater granularity of course, but it doesn't hurt to get a rough idea yourself ...

Just been for a hack, stopped the car, started the car, all fine. Also my seats now work, and the first stage cooling fan now kicks in, its like a new car.

Pinkies crossed that was all it was.

Ill plug the bluetooth OBD iPhone thingy in and see what it comes up with.

Strange the Spyder did something similar on Thursday. It had been left in the Airport car park for three days and when I came to select reverse, no drive. Let it run for a bit and went from 1st to reverse and back again a few times and then with some revs it clicked in and all was fine. It was freezing cold but I will keep an eye on it.

Must be CambioCorsas dont like me.

It was near zero when it happened to me too.

Off over to Mikes now to get the gearbox cycled/reset and get the KIS point slammed to the deck....it could still be a clutch position sensor which means gearbox and clutch out!

£200 for the part and probably 8hrs labour, so lets hope not.

If you cant replicate it, no code stored.....maybe you'll get away with it! Don't they normally replace the sensor too when doing clutch, seems a huge no-brainer if they don't

Just got back from an afternoon up at Mike Roberts.

The car has driven impeccably since the new battery fitted.

SD showed no engine or gearbox ecu codes stored, KIS point was 4.9 and clutch wear of 6%.

We connected the SD to the car and went for a drive and live set the KIS point.

Ended up settling with 4.5 which incidentally brought the clutch wear down to 4%.

Cycled the gearbox and the car drives much better.

Not had the issue with no drive, hopefully it was just a battery confusion thing.

I had a weird experience with my GS on Saturday, went to start it, push the button and nothing, turned off and back on, went to start it and it fired up, then I had a steady bleep bleep from the dash until I eventually stopped and switched her off, about 20 mins..!! When I restarted it was quite normal..?? Never had that happen before and yes I checked the temperature outside to make sure it was not the ice sensor, that was OK..!!
