GranSport Passenger Footrest

Dear Maseratisti,

Should the GranSport I eventually buy not have a passenger footrest, I would like fit one.

The Eurospares website parts catalogue shows that in addition to the footrest, two brackets and ten screws are required to correctly fit the footrest to the passenger foot well. Can this optional accessory item be retro fitted to a GranSport that was not supplied with the footrest option when new and is a special section of floor carpet or floor mat required? For me its more style over substance...and like an extinguisher rather OTT for a GT.
