Sockets and rods I have; still figuring out the outer and crucial ball joint solution... Got a bit distracted with work lately!

You can get the bearings for them the part is SKF GE15C.

A few vendors offer the entire tie rod arms which are Formula Dynamics, AS Motorsports and Auto Ricambi from the top of my head.

Just get the SFK bearings they last longer than the FD solution and are much cheaper.

What about the one I sent you? Basically a GE15C in rod end form.

Thats what I had done with mine, not hard to replace either.

They were shot when I bought rhe car so I replaced with FD rose joints. The bearings in the FD rods failed within 10k miles and replaced those with the original rods, SFK bearings and sockets from @2b1ask1 in 2020

Now I am due a new arm on one side. These cars are relentless lol.

I also found out that the ball joint boot at front at the top and bottom are also shot.

Is there also a replacement boot which will fit or do I have to replace the whole ball joint? And is there also just the ball joint available at the bottom or do I have to buy the whole assembly?

For front lower boot I used these, size XL,

If the ball joint has play the front lower arms need replaced, the front upper ball joint can be replaced relatively cheaply.

Which site is it? The picture is quite small and I can't read the url-adress.

Are the upper joints as big as the lower? Can I use the same covers? Because I have no play in the joints, the dust covers are just broke after 16years....

Not sure about uppers but if you measure inner and outer sizes I’m sure Rhino or similar could match them

Do the XL ones fits nicely or do you have to stretch them already?

Because I found some with 37 and 15mm nearby, so 3mm less at both sides. Should I give them a try?

And do you also now if the nut at the upper ball joint is the same as at the bottom?

At eurospares there is no information regarding the nuts if they are the same.

Was 3-4 years ago but remember they fitted nicely and are designed to stretch as universal type.
I took the suspension arm to the motor factor to try find one that fitted well.
Not sure about the nuts but should be able to get replacements easily as just a fine metric thread / nyloc is presume.
So yes worth a try and they are still in good condition now

Does anyone know what the thread is on the rear lower rod, goes through the upright and holds the tie rod and upright to the wishbone?

M12 fine pitch if you are referring to the stud from the outer lower ball joint through the hub, tie rod ball joint etc.

If you have any damage to the fine thread which is easily done, consider replacing these studs, they are readily available from Maserati for just a couple of quid.

The way to prevent grief with the steering, drive shaft and suspension boots is to spray them, probably at least once a year, with silicon spray. It can also be used to protect rubber parts like the $$$$ door seals on Spyder's. I've done this for years.

Where would you spray the steering? Open the plastic parts around the column ?
