Hi guys! Hope everyone is well
I have just purchased a second hand x-pipe and downpipes from a 2018 McShift car.My car is a 2012 McShift car so would you reckon they will fit?
I'm sure the x pipe is fine but regarding the downpipe has anyone replaced them?Is there any difference in engines?
Obviously the car will go next week on the ramp and will attempt this...

Well, the downpipes seem to be missing the catalysts, but from the description they will fit an MC Shift. I see check engine lights in your future!

Yes, as above - they will fit but the car will not run properly without the lamdbas being fitted and possibly the ECU map being adjusted. The exhaust gas temperatures will be very different to what the ECU is expecting and will probably put the car into limp mode.
And yes, the emissions will be a tad high too when it comes the MOT time

Check engine light won't bother me as long as the car is running ok.But most probably i will need to get the ecu done. The downpipes have the lambda holes so should be fitted back
@Stuart i see you have the larini sports cats and x pipe..your car must sound mental

Under the new MOT rules your tester (subject to brown envelopes) will be looking for a cat as well as a non-illuminated CEL. But your experience may vary. One thing is for sure, without the cats and the resonator it is going to be LOUD!

Just weld a fake cat shell around the pipes.......

I will get the mot done before installation and worst case scenario next year i'll do the swap again before the mot.How about i tell them it's a race car from Maserati Maybe it will help with the valves closed. On my Bmw S1000RR i have a full austin racing exhaust and that's extremely loud with flames and has always passed mot with just an advisory of noisy exhaust

If only it was that easy! The emissions has been the hardest thing to get my race car through an MOT. Closing the valves will help with the volume but not the emission levels sadly

Yes, mine is loud (but probably not as loud as yours will be) and never had an issue. Sounds like you have it covered :)
