Granturismo proving not as reliable as 4200

Having had my old 4200 for six years nothing EVER went wrong it (apart from rust of course)

I was expecting my GranT to give similar levels of reliability but so far bit disapointing: It still has only 19,000 miles but.......
17,000 miles New engine mounts (vibration at idle)
19, 000 miles New power steering oil cooler radiator (huge job whole front of car off)
Mechanic noticed during this that one front spring was broken , and the oil filled lower control arm bushes were ruptured. Another 10 hour job.
I suspect that during a recent wheel alignment (by someone who should know what they were doing) they tried to adjust the bushes (which are shimmed) but the bolts were seized and he ended up twisting the bushes instead and rupturing them......Whenever a full geometry is carried out I should think this is a pretty easy thing to mess up on these cars.
Complete bush set and 2 new springs now ££££££££ not overjoyed................

No, that is not very good now is it.

I know about the trim flaking and I have also heard that the underside of these cars tarnish very badly, all points to a cheaper build.

The only horror story I heard was my mates car when he broke the diff.

He phoned me up saying the car would not move when in gear and pressing the accelerator.

It was replaced without quibble by Maserati and they sent a taxi to pick him up and take him on to his evening out then picked him up at the end, you can't sniff at that.

If only there were this good at organising Centenaries hey!

Only thing I've had go wrong in 15,000 miles (across two cars) was a shock absorber. Everything else was run of the mill e.g. tyres, servicing.

It sounds as though you have been very unlucky and are the exception rather than the norm - no comfort I know, just bad luck I guess so I'm sorry to hear of your troubles
