Au contraire Peter....according to TG, GM got so hacked off with so many changes made, that it was no longer a GM based product...........hence they lost money on the range......
The only thing I personally like about SAAB, is that they make other marques, such as Maserati, stand out more and 'look' even better. It's a typical mediocre car if you ask me, but unless we had mediocre cars you wouldn't notice the special ones.
As a supporter and moderator of the Greek Saab forum, the kids are very happy today. I have had enough of Saab (10 years of owning a 9-5), but i give respect to the fact that they're different from Merc, BMW and Audi.
Oh come on P. Its still a 10 year old model that was so comprised as a SAAB when it was launced.
So now with Chinese sponsored new bumpers and bling day time running lights do we really think this will do anything for their image and future...I think not
...we could say that about most small volume manufacturers...even indigenous British ones......only for FIAT....where would Maserati be?.........and the other 1/2 dozen knights on white horses over the decades.....
I had the new Saab 9-5 on order when they went under, was so disappointed it was never delivered, hope they succeed this time but the 9-3 is a little old hat I have to admit.
I started with a 95 V4 shooting brake and finished with a modified 99 upgraded aero convertible. A mediocre make perhaps but had some punch and nice ideas in them.
