Only toolboxes I would entertain are Snap-On, superb quality nice draw action even when full and you can px when you need bigger, I'll pop a photo of mine on later

Snap on At 10x the price  bit overkill unles you're a pro who's in there every 5 minutes, the mechanic I use has snap on, Costco do a tool chest that looks every bit as good for under £1000 but that halfords deal does look very good and I need some organisation in my shed, I'm sick of looking for things ,I might nip down later and have a look, thanks for posting

I bought as Snap on roll cab & tool box off ebay, sprayed them both & sold the roll cab, so effectively ended up with a free tool box. All my tools are snap on, although I rarely use tem owning such a reliable car.

HAs anybody got any experience of dealing with SGS Engineering? I'm looking at buying one of these beauties!

or I might go further and get this...

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gara...sional-13-drawer-roll-away-tool-chest-cabinet

They do 'racing' trolley jacks too.

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equipment/trolley-jacks/tja15-aluminium-trolley-jack.

Any experience or thoughts appreciated.

I have bought a fair amount of hydraulic equipment from SGS for work. I popped up to their HQ and saw their tool chests in person, they are extremely sturdy and the wheels are high quality. I'm buying theirs when I get round to it.

Beware though, all their web prices exclude VAT.

I've had a look at Machine Mart's range, they go from cheap and cheerful to not quite professional mechanic/compulsive obsessive.

Something I look for is the 'wobble factor' of drawers. Do they move from side to side when fully drawn out and can they prevent the drawn from closing because of this?
Also with the drawers, is that they should glide back with a light tap on the front or do they require pushing all the way back in to close.
Another point is the quality of the external fittings such as handles, are they affixed properly? Does the external wall flex when light pressure is applied.

So I might take the plunge on SGS, thanks for the advice.

And Phil, it looks nice but that's nothing compared to a bloke at Bournemouth Airport, he had a bit of a Snap-On habit to say the least. I did call the local rep, a 'dealer' praying on the weak minded.

Likewise, I bought a halfords professional tool chest and plenty of their tools. All certainly good enough for "hobby" use.

Snap On is great stuff no doubt, but totally unnecessary unless you use it every day for a living.

I have all Halfords (which is actually Draper Expert) and hammered the shite out of it for decades and still refused to give up. Got the cabinets too, very good and showing no signs of where, just don't leave then in the sun as they will discolour but you can Tcut them back.

The Machine Mart ones have served me years for the price I couldn't fault them.

I've seen Halfords Advanced tools in a few professional garages
My cantilever 5 drawer toolbox lasted over 25 years I only threw it away when I got my 7 drawer halfords set like in Mafs post, just the top box, sits on the workbench and I am very pleased with it
