A nice review, but quite at odds with so many others.
Turns out that there is a recall on the early 4C's to fix front suspension and change ECU mappings. I wonder if many of the less flattering reviews were based on driving the early model?
Great article. It properly captures what makes Alfas, and the 4c in particular, special. It's not perfect by any means, but all the more loveable for it. The follow-up comments from US readers are also interesting and generally positive.
I read that one, it was a review of the white 4C CUK test car with the smaller wheels. I don't think that test car has generated a single positive review.
I do wonder about reviewers at times, though:
"In All Weather it feels as if power is being withheld"
Hmm, well let me see, what would one typically expect All Weather mode to do in a performance car?!
Saw one for the first time at Supercar Sunday at Mitton Hall at the weekend. It was throwing it down and it was in an odd colour but still looks better in the metal. Sounded good as well considering it's 4 cylinders.
I was disappointed when I saw the one at the Bristol do.........kinda looked wide and stubby, not what I was expecting at all and certainly didn't provoke the semi I was expecting......unlike its 8C brother!!
The options are relatively cheap so its easy to spec a car with just an extra grand or two.
The LE's were 55K, and the Spiders are 59K - which is too much money, given that there are virtually no creature comforts in the car and they hardly differ from the base model which I have. And the standard paint jobs are absolutely awful, by all accounts!
