I have no sound coming from my speakers from any source (Nav, Radio, iPod, Bluetooth etc) I do have an aftermarket Kenwood head unit fitted which has worked fine for the past 8 Months. The head unit powers up as normal and I've checked all the physical connections and fuses and they all appear fine.

I'm assuming there's an amp somewhere that is part of the Auditorium system, can anybody point me to where this is in the car or any other pointers ie if it has a separate fuse

thanks

An update to say I've refitted the OE Becker traffic pro and it is doing the same :(

Rules out the head unit then. Have you checked fuses? Has anything happened to cause this or did it just give up the ghost?

Can't see a listIng in the manual for a separate amp fuse, haven't been through all of them though

Nothing obvious happened, it worked last time I used the car

Amps and things stereo related are tucked up inside the rear wings mainly on the battery side , cd changer is in the passenger side rear wing obviously accessed from the boot , worth checking the fuses above the battery aswell

Thanks Loz just found the amp (behind the battery) and checked the fuse (no6 in the boot) and connections all seem fine, looking more like an amp failure :(

If it is amp failure that will be a first that ive heard of in 5 years , maybe wortha quick visit to an audio specialist to get things checked out

Try David Askew he will have a used one for a fraction of the new price. As Loz says its a very in common failure.

When I bought my Volvo c70 the radio was dreadful. Turned out it had the 5.1 pro-lodgic system with a big amp in the boot. Founf that the amp had inside it two of theose prong fuses, both of which had gone. Quick swap and the unit was fine and sounds like heaven

thanks again for the suggestions/ ideas. A further update as I've been able to spend some time on it again today, the head unit is working when fitted to another car. The 30amp amplifier fuse is good as is the 25amp fuse in the side of the amp. The amp is getting 12v on it's main feed and a 12v signal on it's exciter circuit. If I plug a speaker into each of the 4 inputs to the amp I get sound from all

Much as I'd hoped not it does seem to be the amp that's at fault and a trawl of Maseratilife suggests failure is not that uncommon.

I'm going to send it to an electrical wizard I know to see if it can be fixed and also get onto David Askew/ Eurospares to see if there's any secondhand ones around

Long shot perhaps, but maybe check that all the electrical points are clean. I've had the Auditorium 200 on both my GranSports and it has played up on both. Most of the time the problem is intermittent, and a good clean sorted it out last time.

I'm certain now it's the Amp as I've shorted the plug so the head unit is in effect connected directly to the speakers and it all works fine, the only thing would be if hte exciter circuit was not working but that has a sold 12v

Unfortunately there appears to be no used ones about and the new one is around £520 plus VAT. I'm sending it to an electronics specialist today to see if he can repair it

I'll post the pinouts up in due course for future reference

I have the same problem with my 2006 GS Spyder. No sound from speakers but if i turn up volume real loud then there is some low sound from sub.

All aftermarket units I see do not have the same plug as the ASK unit so the pinouts will be very welcome.

I would be guessing that there are internal fuses in the amp that have maybe gone, one for each channel.
