GS carpet replacement

Decided I really do have to get rid of the beige/orangey carpet in my new GS. The quote for a black replacement however surprised me a little. I was expecting it to be a lot, so was pleased that a genuine OEM carpet was £280 + VAT, but 8 hours of labour to fit it seems a lot. Surely it's just taking the seats out, ripping out the old and sticking in the new somehow. Anyone any experience of doing this DIY?

Cheers,
Ben.

I would do it your self, as you say, some spray adhesive, whip the front seats out, 4 bolts each and an electrical connector, rear bench, just levers up and the centre consul, how hard can it be?

Does that come with the mats?...I suspect not so add another £70, or you can just have it dyed, £20 for 5L that should be enough and you dont have to remove the carpet????

I've beige carpets/beige leather/blue paint and blue piping on the dash.
The beige mats are terrible to keep clean so I bought blue clip in mats instead. It looks good with the beige carpet actually.
So maybe just black mats in your case?

Thanks both.

Mike that's pretty much what mine is like, and I have black mats already. However in the GS the carpet comes up and over the middle between the stereo and the gear lever and so is more obvious. It's the odd cheap 70s style of the carpet which gets me. So replacement it is!

I shall have to discuss the diy option and see whether I ant the challenge!

Connolising paint! Oh no. It's no secret. Just 15.5k miles from new, and lots of liquid leather to keep nice and soft. Any dye marks from clothes wipe with GT15 spray cleaner, then more GT11 conditioner!

You have got a lot of beige there, with beige lower door cards and beige piping too, which I haven't.
So going black carpet will match nicely I feel with the black top dash.

The carpet price was what the dealer (independent) quoted. I assume they get them from Maserati but I didn't ask.
Apparently the labour charge is worst case - if they can install it without taking out the dash then it'll save 3-4 hours and a lot of cash.
