GS heater air distribution fault, advice please.

After the long winter storage and now the car back on the road I had the infamous E display now and again, done the usual heater reset and battery etc but still got intermittent problem. Heat and AC works fine.

Showing code AA114 which I think is AA14, TT1 air sensor, the issue is the air distribution settings as I think the actuator is playing up as will only distribute foot well/screen and foot well and screen. Will not go into face vents on dash.

I had this issue a few years ago but sorted itself out and been fine, maybe where car has been sat for 6 months and is a bit sticky but I want to sort now.

Question is I notice on ES site there are 3 actuators 1 recirc and 2 others, I assume it is either 980000974 or 980000999, which one does the air distribution and can you change them without taking a lot of the dash out, one is on the drivers side and one on the passenger side, I assume if you can you will need to be a contortionist.

Any advice or info much appreciated.

I had the same error code on my last 4200 which I recall was linked to a dodgy wing mirror sensor.
Although the car detected the temp by other methods the wing mirror sensor did not change even when covered in ice .

Had a new one fitted and fault was cleared.

I did not have any air distribution problems or codes.

There is also a post on here with the codes/faults.

I did read about the wing mirror sensor and mine works fine as the E only seems to show when I use the air distribution knob and its like either the internals are sticky after the winter store or the actuator is faulty, maybe just a dodgy connection, will have to have a look at the connector plugs maybe.

Yes, reset works fine but does not change things, the weird thing is if I disconnect the battery and re connect the air distribution will come on the the face vent fine, but as soon as I move the the air distribution knob to another setting ( foot well or screen) it works but after that will not go back to face vent then get the E display for 2 mins and then reverts back to temp display.

If you can get it so the face vents are working then put it on the hottest setting and leave the car running or go for a drive. It may warm the grease up enough that you can free the distribution flaps up properly once the grease has warmed up so you can change the settings a few times.
