GT battery compartment

does anyone have any idea if its possible to route a cable from battery compartment in the boot to underneath the car? I'm fitting valve controller and wonder whether its easier to fit it in the front under the bonnet and use one of engine compartment switched fuses or whether I can fit it in the back (no issue with engine heat damaging cable, closer to the exhaust valve, easier access etc) but obviously need to figure out cable routing.

Very easy - pull the carpet/boot liner out and you'll see how easy it is!

So I had a quick look in the boot and cannot see any obvious access points to underneath the car. Tried to look from the bottom as well as much as I could see and still no visible openings in the heat shield.... Any suggestions where I should look?

No its not an FD kit. Fitting manual for this suggest its fitted in the engine bay and cable routed under the car to the solenoid valve for the exhaust.
I don't like that I'd need to cut the orignal cable etc so decided to go for more expensive Forza Componenti controller is plug and play. Instructions suggest fitting in the boot and drilling a hole through the boot floor below battery to route the cable but I'm hesitant drilling extra holes if I can securely route the cable through the existing opening.... hence my question.

I'm really wanting a device that does three things - valves open, closed and stock which in my case is sport above 3000 revs. My understanding is that the FD device only does the first two of the three.

Should be easy enough. You'd have to build it first. If you can wait a month or so, I can probably work it out when I build mine.

That kit I have linked does precisely that, is plug and play and does not need extra power source plus it has built in protection for car circuits. Just need a way to fit it in the boot and run cable to a solenoid valve....

At that price it bloody well should do! R+D costs not withstanding there's about £20 max worth of gear there and the R+D is about 10 minutes. Naturally there's marketing, packaging and approval but still a **** of a mark up.

Which is not to say you shouldn't buy one, let's be clear. I'm going to talk to FD tomorrow cos I'm just not sure I CBA

As ever a great piece by Voicey. But I'm not convinced that the solenoid control on the GTs is anything like that complex. I could well be wrong though.

All he's done (I use the world 'all' with no intent of belittling) is created a dummy load for the ECU to prevent it logging errors. Given those errors don't even light a CEL, not sure why he's worried about it, but it also it's not a variable opening system either.

So clearly more R+D time, but whether the result is worth it, only you can tell. :)

Have you managed to get anywhere finding a cable route?

Just found this in the tech manual:

The NCM regulates activation of the exhaust silencer by-pass valves, which are pneumatically activated by means of a solenoid valve, on the basis of the selected driving mode (Normal, Sport, Race) and a specific map (throttle angle, engine speed). The activation strategy can be specific for the various model variants.

So clearly on some models there is some kind of variation. I'm going for on and off :)

I suspect I might be in the running for an ASBO
