The output from the NIT, at least physically, is a dead standard ISO. Given that this is also fitted to a load of Peugeots, I'd be really surprised if it was doing the kind of processing you suggest but hey, I've been wrong before. This morning

I did another check, connecting a speaker directly to the NIT on front and back output and the difference was pretty clear. Also, there is no mention of highpass filter in any parts catalogue that I could find. I should go into a car audio shop and have them confirm my suspision, but thats something I plan on doing when I decide to go the DSP (and possible amp) route. Car was in for a service but I forgot to check this with the maserati genius doing the service.
