In the end it was one of the shocks. Once replaced everything was fine and dandy....... And then I sold the car. But bought something better :)

So my car did this wheni bought it and they said it was a skyhook/shock absorber issue. The shocks were replaced under warranty got it back but they had not settled the springs properly into the housing so it went back in. After all was finished it was perfect.. Hope that's helpful. I believe the shocks were leaking slightly or Atleast that was the reason they gave me. It squeezed or creeked as I turned into my drive which has a slight incline and requires a full lock.

Hi- I am noticing the same creaking sound coming from the rear of the car at low speeds and/or bumps (when it's quiet). Reading through the thread it seems that it's one of those annoying things I might have to put up with but not necessarily anything to worry about mechanically. Would you agree, or is it going to be a big expense down the line with changing the suspension? Is this sort of thing covered by warranty or do they put it down to wear and tear?

Personally I'm putting up with it until I get round to having a good indie copper-grease all the suspension bushes and check the four-wheel alignment. Chances are that'll fix it. Or not

I had the wheel alignment done recently but I recall that I was advised that the rubber suspension bush was becoming detached from the metal backing, but it was a monitor action rather than needing urgently replacing- it's probably that but I'm having the indie look at it while the car is in getting its gasket changed this week
