Thing is if you asked someone who had an M3 or something they would still say that £1500 is a lot.

I agree.

It is good that there are alternatives but £1500 is still a lot of money.

Is this the price that we are supposed to pay for owning a Gran Turismo? :-0

I had an Audi RS6 and that cost £1500 for front discs too as they where the 2 piece ones like th GTS. I just thought it was the going rate?

I reached out to Torenno - about my 4.2 judging from their website they offer these for the 4.7 also - I believe that it is the Formula Dynamic product. I have no association with Torenno or FD. My 4.2 has done 21k miles and is going into a main dealer in 8 weeks for a service and I didn't want to get hit with a crazy bill if my discs/pads need replacing - so here is their reply:

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your email

The Front Discs - which are an upgrade quality disc. Both drilled and grooved for improved performance and also lighter than the the inferior factory disc. the Cost is only £350 Plus Vat Ea.

Full Set of Pads (Front and Back) are only £250.00 Plus Vat

Kindest Regards

Noor

The GTS only ever came with none grooved disc whereas the GT Sport discs are grooved all round. Sounds like the previous owner upgraded the front brake discs but not the rears.

PS The 4 seat Stadale has ceramic brakes but I'm not sure about the older, 2 seat version. Are these the brakes off one of those?

PPS There were the MC Sportline option packages too which perhaps covered these discs so they could have been fitted from new. If your car has a lot of carbon then this is more likely.

Yes "bigbob" my car does have the "Sportline" aero packs both option 1 & 2. I thought the Sportline was purely cosmetic?

I think that the MC Sportline pack was a pic n' mix thing. As well as cosmetic it included the brake options and also the option of the fixed rate Stradale suspension.
