Headlight Hazing

Just having my car detailed and it would seem the headlight hazing is on the inside of the lamp unit. Has anyone successfully separated the unit from the length and re-assembled without issue? If so how easy is the operation? Not received the car back yet but one side has buffed up better than the other it would seem. I can probably live with it but just exploring what options are available as seems such a shame to let the whole aesthetic of the car down due to some hazy plastic. These are non xenon/non washer jet units.

I did the above oven heating method on a bmw and can say it was quite an effort to separate.
I would think it’s only dusty inside

Historically I believe it's the UV from the bulbs that breaks down the coating
