Welcome Alex, great to have you onboard. Bare with us, its been a little quite on here this week, I think the sun has drawn everyone out of their pits.
had a replacement rev counter fitted a couple of weeks ago, to do it they had to remove the needle from the mph counter, somehow it went back on wrong and the upshot was the car was i indicating 15mph faster than it was going. funny thing was though it was my lad that noticed something was wrong
I remember a tread last year on MF about a 4200 doing 0-60 in about 3.8 seconds, no one believed it and got a bit heated from what i remember
...thats a point while i remember to ask about it - sorry steve, whats the difference regarding clutch life on the manuals compared to the "autos" does the clutch last longer on the manual or auto?
The clutch life on the 42 manual must be better than the CC, the CC wears pretty bad, expect 12k miles and upwards for a CC clutch, the manual, if looked after, should do 3 times that.
There are people who get 30k miles from a CC clutch, but it is a rarity.
thanks canaero,
i'v heard you can reset the clutch so it relearns how vigourously or smoothly it changes?
is there much difference between the 2002 and '03 CC gearchanges regarding smoothness or are they the same as wasnt it about '03 onwards the upgraded the software slightly?
