Voicey......

But any indy with SD2/3 or *maybe* and Alfa diagnostic. Don't bet on that though.

Maverick why is the airbag light on? Did it come on out of the blue? (yes you definitely need the diagnostic tool).

Yes just came on ,I did upgrade the speakers and had isolated the battery while doing it if I remember it came on not long after that ,I am hoping I may have just dislodged the wires some how in the door for the airbag . Also along with the airbag light I have also got a flashing child seat deactivation light .

Odds on it's the switch in the glove box then. Known failure. Replace with Alfa part.

Might be worth replacing it before getting it reset....

My switch is on the side of the glove box/ dash , I have had that out and checked it electrically and it seems to be fine . if I replace it with a new one do I still need to get the light reset ?

Yep. Airbag lights don't (at least in my experience) reset without intervention.

It sounds rather like you have a loose connection, so the problem will be finding where. Otherwise 30 seconds after you pay £n for the reset, you'll go over a bump and it'll come right back on again.

Ask me how I know this. Go on, I *dare* you ;)

Grrrrrrr

Rachel's 147 had a similar fault. Finally traced to the connector under the seat. Felice didn't charge me, but I think it took about 6 attempts.....
