Brilliant, as it should be.

Managed to get 12,700 on my 2007 QP in the last 12 months, now on 80K,

Reading this thread has got me thinking, my initial thoughts were to pay more for a low mileage newer QP next year but the problem with that is I wont keep the history up, It'll be serviced properly, I use a guy that could work on anything, like he says, they all suck, squeeze, bang and blow, it's the electronics that cock it up then you have to go to a specialist

But now i'm thinking 12-15K on one with a few miles on it might be a better investment, slush fund if it goes wrong plus it won't have far to fall if there's some main dealer history missing, I suppose the winner is a car with miles that's just had money spent on it

I find it bizarre the number of times people get all excited about finding a car with FMSH and then in the next thread we talk about how we'd never use a main dealer as the majority of them are useless and don't do the work they say they do!

To me service history is a bit like an MOT.. fine at the time it was done.. doesn't mean the car has been looked after in between the services, nor that the services were really done to the right standard.

Which would you rather buy, a car with full history that the owner has red-lined from cold each day.. or a car that an enthusiast as looked after and cared for each day and treated correctly but missing book stamps?

For me the current owner is the most important and what's happened to the car in their past 12/18 months of ownership. Have they cared and looked after the car properly? If they've got loads of receipts for bits they've had done on the car and are clearly a fan of the marque and seem knowledgeable then chances are the car is going to be in a good state. If they are a boy racer or treat the car like a tool.. then I'd walk away no matter what the book says...

Seems my mileage has been added by mistake to the list.
I only have 35k miles so I'm a champion of the low miles championship :)

I chose to put a limit on my mileage of 8000 pa to get a reasonable insurance quote from Churchill
It is hovering around the 59000 mark right now and I am loathe to see it go through the 60000 barrier
Stupid I know
My annual mileage is quite low, since I use it for my pleasure only

maybe put in model (maybe year) as 50k 2007 would that not be higher usage than 60k 2001.... just an idea ?

I have now sold the car and it had 80400 miles on it, so 21400 miles in usage. All them miles were done in 11 months, minus the last 400 miles which were on my final journey back to Edinburgh before sale. Hopefully the car will do the same amount of mileage with its new owners and not be sat in a garage.

And to think you complained the car was not reliable at the first few months of ownership! Amazing miles testament to a great car.

Mine has now done 78,687 miles. I've had it around 4 years now and it was around 56k when I bought it. It's been to Modena twice, Paris once and around the Isle of Wight earlier this year.

Never misses a beat, starts well, goes well and up to Bruntingthorpe stops well.
New sm discs will go on in the winter when I'm in the new house.
