It's 10th wedding anniversary this year and looking to go somewhere nice and relaxing but not too relaxing.
Not Maldives as it looks too quiet for me. I can chill out but I think I'd go crazy there as it's too relaxing if you get my meeaning.
Dont want to spend more than £10k really.
It will be winter sun so anytime from November to February time.

Ideas greatly appreciated.

We've done most of the Carribean so not really looking there and dont really want to fly more than 10 hours

Ive just got back from the Seychelles and it was amazing but probably not too dissimilar from the Maldives or Mauritius. It sounds like you need beaches and plenty of things to do.

Have you been to Dubai or Muscat? Both offer excellent beaches, plenty to do and some amazing hotels.

Sri Lanka! You can have a spell relaxing at the beach, go on some amazing safari, some of the best avian bird watching anywhere, head up inland for fascinating ancient culture and to tree mountains for the tea plantations.

For 10k you can do Sandals all inclusive with a butler in St Lucia for 2 weeks.

Did it for our honeymoon last year. Was absolutely amazing.

Been to Dubai and loved it but not tried Muscat. What's that like Phil?

Winter in Dubai can be a bit chilly IMHO. Seychelles is nice but expensive, I was there recently but would not rush back. Far East is a great choice, beach in Thailand or Malaysia with a stop over in Bangkok or Singapore.

Thanks Geoff but we've covered the Carribean now and fancy somewhere else.

+1 for Sri Lanka. get a driver and tour the country and then spend a few days in the Maldives afterwards to relax. Best combination you can do IMHO!

Did this for our 25th Anniversary just this February, was brilliant apart from rain in Maldives, but that was totally abnormal for time of year...

How about Cape Town and the wine regions around there. Great at that time of year, and cheap when you get there meaning you can stay at top level places. Fly over night and no real time difference, so no jet-lag and no time wasted while travelling. Works on all levels.

I would endorse Ewan - had a fabulous time in south Africa earlier this January. Start in Cape Town and then follow the garden route. Very safe. Surprise bonus is the private car collection in franshoek with 3 classic Maserati's including a 250f as well as f40, f50 and enzo! Happy to provide suggestions based on our experiences. Plus no jet lag which is a real bonus while sitting in Beijing cursing jet lag!

I've always fancied Hawaii but it's literally the other side of the planet!

Part of our honeymoon was in Hawaii- with a stop over in vegas.
Hawaii was absolutely amazing- but pretty quiet apart from Honolulu.
Would thoroughly recommend.
I would love to go back , but not possible really with a 3 year old ATM

We honeymooned at the Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada which was fantastic for us. Will go back again soon hopefully.
