lol, still toying with getting the magnet for cars but..........

I have a magnetic mount for my GoPro that says DO NOT ATTACH THIS TO A CAR!!! but it seems fine. To be on the safe side, I have a tether and I trapped this in the sunroof - I figured if it came unstuck it would stay on-board and just bang on the sunroof glass until I stopped.

Seems like an appropriate thread for this

2022 we did 3 nights at Lytham festival in the Motorhome

The most entertaining part of the trip was the bus to Blackpool, I've not been there for 20 years and it was as **** as I remember last time I said I was never going again.

It's a good job there weren't any speed bumps or ½ the bus would've been killed by the excitement

A woman got on, could've been 25 , could've been 45 , it's hard to tell when you weigh 6 stone and you've got no teeth , she was on something

She was quiet until this bloke got on and started going though all the fare options for a round trip to lytham which took forever

Crackhead chuntering under her breath until at the top of her voice

***** sake mate just give him the ******* money

Next stop 2 women who looked about 60 but still dressed in the 80s pushing their mother in a wheelchair who looked 90, only they couldn't get her on the bus because she didn't want to go , grabbed everything , they had to prise her fingers off every rail until they got to the wheelchair space

More ***** sake from the crackhead

We got off at St Anne's and went in a pub , only as I walked in , bingo on FFS

The barman looked like he wanted to hang himself as the poshest woman in St Anne's called out the numbers , it was like bingo at buckingham Palace

Luckily it was nice weather so we went outside to witness the splendour of

Dazneyland , void of any children because the child catcher was reading out bingo numbers

Thanks for that wack61, it is something we can all aspire to. I remember taking my suitably cynical 10 yr old (now 26) to see Blackpool illuminations. "Why are we here?" he said, "its just some crappy street lights". He was right.

I went to Blackpool in the winter once for a walk along the beach with the dogs which was fine but there's nothing more depressing than a seaside town out of season

It reminded me of I Am Legend, really bleak, nobody about apart from undesirables who wanted to kill you

perfect setting for a zombie movie

Reminiscing about a bad holiday to Blackpool in 2022 have things got that bad ?

Last year I went back to my hometown and for the first time in probably 20 plus years I went into the town centre to have a look, FFS what a dump, decaying and closed shopping centres, closed and derelict pubs and the people all looked like they had lost the will to live, Zombie ville

Well that was my last trip to Warrington, give me an empty seaside town any day at least you get the sea

Come on you grumpies have some fun. We went to Blackpool in October, illuminations, circus, tower, it was great fun.

Thought this was about looking forward to this year though:
Just booked a trip to the Dolomites, probably too snowy/cold/hilly for the grumpsters but we’ll have fun!

oops - we're going to Blackpool for the Maserati red trouser bash end-Feb - but we will be civilised and have some Lake District rambles as well. And @Oneball - Dolomites are stunning, whatever the conditions.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Blackpool this place was brilliant https://www.hungarians-restaurant.co.uk/

There’s also some nice places behind the sea front like Abingdon Street Market

We are planning to do the Wild Atlantic Way in stages this year although weather will play a big part in what we get to see

If doing the WAW, I strongly recommend this book, for its amusing and informative guidance:

And I, and others perhaps, can make recommendations from this trip:

Heading to Buenos Aires next week, followed by 2 week Antarctica and Falklands cruise - navigating the ARS currency will be the biggest challenge, I reckon! Will post a quick report, if anybody’s interested.

Will be thinking of Clarkson etc whilst in Ushuaia…

I can't disagree, I live on the outskirts of Warrington which is OK but the town itself is done
The problem is within 30-40 minutes is Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, all of which have more to offer than Warrington ever will.

I moved here for work, if I could I'd leave tomorrow

I grew up in Grappenhall and went school in Lymm so the better side which is still quite nice but was truly shocked about the state of the town centre
